The US-Mexico Multistate COIL Program, funded by the US Embassy in Mexico City and managed by the SUNY COIL Center, established a relatively low-cost, scalable, model for campus internationalization, even amongst peer institutions lacking robust internationalization infrastructures. The COIL Center created an intake process whereby COIL staff met online with senior leaders at Mexican institutions, who were previously invited by the US embassy, to introduce the project. Once agreements were completed and participating professors identified, we then led a 10+ week professional development program to train professors, which included a face-to-face workshop. We engaged in facilitated partnering and organized travel for reciprocal campus visits between the US and Mexican partner professors to enhance institutional relationships.  Nearly 40 COIL-enhanced courses were taught during the 2016-2017 academic year for an estimated 1800 students.  These partnership activities and course collaborations founded institutional partnerships that are continuing without additional project funding.
