Location: Arts Room
A Global Learning Experience (GLE) was conducted between 110 hospitality and tourism students in China and the United States (US). This was the first GLE for both university partners, and one of the largest GLE’s to date for the US-based partner institution, and the first for the China-based partner. The US-based course was a fully online course, while the China-based course was a face-to-face class with an online GLE component. The 4-week GLE required students to collaborate synchronously and asynchronously using a variety of technology tools in an effort to research and develop an online presentation focused on information technology trends in five different segments of hospitality and tourism. This 60-minute interactive session provides valuable insight for participants looking to develop a new or enhance an existing GLE. The insight provided is reflective in nature and relates to the topic of how technology was used to facilitate the GLE.
